Over the past year and a half, we’ve all seen this trend: our jobs, classrooms, social gatherings - most of the activities that connect us to our community - have moved online. For people with a computer and the skills to use it, this shift has largely increased access. But for individuals who don’t have access or training to use technology, this growing digital divide is creating further isolation.
So, this year, when we surveyed our clients about how ICS could support their goals, we heard the answer loud and clear: teach digital literacy skills. Our clients told us they want and need digital literacy training so they can attend job interviews on Zoom, go to a friend’s virtual birthday party, complete medical paperwork, take classes at College of Marin, schedule transportation and more.
Our goal is to design a robust digital literacy training curriculum and offer classes to the 330 individuals with disabilities who partner with ICS. Your donation has the power to move people out of isolation, open doors to bright careers and create connection in countless ways. 100% of your donation will go to this program.
