ABOUT THE JOB
The Education + Employment Navigator will provide one-on-one training to individuals with disabilities as they work towards their personal career goals and overall independence. Work with clients can range from in-class instructional support with notes and assignments to providing onsite/offsite support at work or volunteer sites.
Experience in Special Education, Career Counseling or similar fields is desired. This includes knowledge or ability to learn about traditional educational tracks using disability resources and the IGETC (Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum) for UC (University California) and CSU (California State University). The ability to connect with community resources is also desired in order to create new opportunities for clients in the career field of their choice.
In this role you may be responsible for providing students with support as a liaison to special education services and or employment/volunteer agencies. You will help to set up learning/work accommodations with counselors and employers in order to help clients meet their long-term career goals. In some cases, clients will require direct support with learning how to take public transportation and support with learning to communicate appropriately when interacting within their communities.
This job is full time, $20 - $23.50/hr depending on experience. This job can be part time or full time, plus potential overtime accrual. Shifts are typically between 9am-7pm. Weekend and weekday shifts available at locations throughout Marin. Hybrid work is an option in cases where clients require only limited one-to-one support at school/work and/or can receive support virtually.

DUTIES
Train clients around their goals, such as transportation training, completing assignments, on/offsite job or volunteer support.
Keep detailed progress notes after each session and update the client's file on the computer
Complete and submit all forms on time, including monthly and annual reports
Attend case conferences with clients, families and other agencies they work with if necessary
Attend staff meetings to discuss current cases and brainstorm creative solutions to challenges
Work collaboratively with supervisors, colleagues, clients and families
QUALIFICATIONS
Strong computer literacy, specifically with Gmail, Google Drive and Microsoft Office.
Prior experience with this population or special education experience is preferred.
Valid California identification such as Real ID, driver’s license, or passport. A background check will be conducted.
