May is Mental Health Awareness Month
ICS worked with individuals with lived experience and service providers in Marin County to create a mental health and wellbeing guide.
The guide shares resources and advocacy tips for people with intellectual or developmental disabilities who are looking for services and support for their mental health.

You're invited to a community update about mental health resources for people with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
Join us on June 8th from 3:30-5pm to learn what resources are available and help strengthen our community safety net for people with disabilities. We hope to see you there!

Looking for ways to support your mental health? We asked people we serve for their tips.
Write/journal. Writing your emotions, even sometimes writing songs, helps release and process.
Listen to music.
If it’s safe, go on a walk, go outside, get out of the house. Getting outside to take a walk or go to the park can help relieve feeling depressed or anxious.
Exercise. Go to the gym or work out at home to release stress and anxiety.
Visit a different city. Step out of your neighborhood and visit a different city, like San Francisco, to shake out negative energy.
Tell someone. Let a family member or friend know you're having a rough day and ask them for support.
