In addition to donating 50% of everything we grow at GEM to at-risk seniors and individuals experiencing homelessness, we just launched a Share Some Love sponsorship program where your one-time donation will sponsor a low-income ICS client to receive fresh produce from GEM every month this season.

We are so incredibly grateful that all of our clients and staff are healthy and are finding creative ways to connect during sheltering in place. All of our staff meetings and many of our client services have gone virtual, and even our client social clubs like hiking, museum tours, art and cooking have resumed with a virtual twist.

The ICS team has grown to 72 staff members, and we're excited to welcome our three newest staff: John, Lucas and Therese

The 2020 census is happening now! ICS is partnering with the Silicon Valley Foundation, Canal Alliance and Community Action Marin to ensure that people with disabilities, who have historically been underrepresented in the census, are counted this year. Responses from the census shape policy and funding for so many services, which is why it's vital that people with disabilities participate.

Here are just a few examples of the amazing generosity we've received from our community this month:

  • $15,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation to fund our most vital client services during shelter in place.

  • $5,000 grant from the San Francisco Foundation to fund GEM's produce donations to at-risk seniors and people experiencing homelessness.

  • A mass delivery of masks that will be distributed to people with disabilities throughout the Bay Area.

  • 2,000 masks delivered to our doorstep through a partnership between UCSF and Salesforce.
